Blood Free, a thrilling conspiratorial drama starring Han Hyojoo and Ju Jihoon, has been making K-Drama fans feel a mix of kilig, excitement, and awe. But above all, viewers are feeling suspicious and theorizing about who the real culprit is–the one behind the terrorist attack that shook the nation.
With everyone making their guesses, it’s time we throw our hats into the ring. Our suspect: the BF CEO herself, Yun Jayu.
What? The charming main character and lovely Hyojoo as the villain? That can’t be! Well, hear us out as we list down some of the reasons why:
She benefitted the most from the terrorist attack
After the bombing that left the then President, Lee Mungyu permanently disabled and several soldiers dead, BF had an exponential growth. Without competition in the cell culture technology and a staunch critic to hold her back in the form of Mungyu, BF’s success skyrocketed and is now a staple business in the country.
Could this be her plan all along? Is she willing to sacrifice this many lives for her company?
She’s a little too game to do human trials
First on Kim Sungu’s wife and now on Woo Chaewoon? She knows these bio-cell technologies are not yet approved for clinical trials, she knows the risks and possible side effects, and she still authorized the operations.
Talking about her moral compass, if she’s capable of forgoing regulatory rules and protocols to test BF’s products, could staging a terrorist attack and deliberately harming people to get what she wants also be a strong possibility?
She has the money to wield power
She’s the CEO of one of the most profitable companies in South Korea and the Prime Minister is just one phone call away from her. She also has Jang Yeongsil, an AI secretary – much like Tony Stark’s Jarvis – who’s one voice command away from doing anything she asks.
With this much power, she could have easily paid someone to do the dirty job for her, and go on living as if nothing happened. And why not if it means ensuring the future of her beloved company?
She’s keeping Chaewoon close to cover her tracks
Woo Chaewoon is one of the only living witnesses of the terrorist attack. Revealing this to Jayu, she eventually decided to keep Chaewoon as her bodyguard and keep him close.
Did she deliberately hire Chaewoon – and made him believe he was in control – to watch his every move? Is this her way of making sure she’s always one step ahead of him?
Keep your discerning eyes and ears open as the conspiracy and revelations will only get crazier from here. New episodes of Blood Free come out every Wednesday on Disney+.
